Vitamin E is comprised of two main forms, tocotrienols (T3s) and tocopherols (TOCs). T3s and TOCs have similar chemical structures. However, T3s are chemically and physiologically distinct to TOCs, because of their unsaturated trans double bonds at the 3’, 7’ and 11’ position of the 20- hydrocarbon side chain. There are four different types of T3s (alpha, beta, delta and gamma) and four different types of TOCs (alpha, beta, delta and gamma).
The two products are:
nE1-ElitE®, which has single daily servings containing 40mgs of delta T3s as the key dietary ingredient and formulated as a flavoured powder packaged in a stick pack for easy storage and consumption. Designed to help achieve greater peak power during exercise, improve muscle recovery and reduce Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) after workout therefore making it more enjoyable to workout.
nE1-Heart®, which has single daily servings containing 20mgs of delta T3s as the key dietary ingredient and formulated as a flavoured powder packaged in a stick pack for easy storage and consumption. Designed to assist in the maintenance of of cholesterol already in the normal range and acts as a powerful antioxidant.
NE1-Elite® and NE1-Heart® are available in the US as dietary supplements and are listed on the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration's (TGA) Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as Listed Complementary Medicines. The products pictured above are marketed in the US only. The Australian products will have different packaging.
The use of the MELT3® platform in nE1-ElitE® has been shown in clinical studies to be effective for the reduction of DOMS, improvement of muscle recovery after exercise and maintenance of peak muscle power. This platform, which in its present form, comprises a powder which is dissolved in the mouth and then swallowed, will initially underpin all of Invictus’ nutraceutical products.
For nE1-Heart®, clinical data from a substantial body of peer-reviewed scientific articles support the fact that T3s may be useful in the maintenance of cholesterol already in the normal range and acts as a powerful antioxidant in the body. T3s also have a similarity to the Gold Standard drug for hyperlipidaemia, statins, in that they inhibit the biosynthesis of cholesterol by blocking the HMCG CoA pathway.
